Sharp...with an "E" on the end

My photo
I am a 26 year-old mother of my beautiful 2 year-old son Khalil. He is my pride and joy and always makes me laugh. I aspire to be a great journalist. I really just aspire to be whatever God has planned for me. Slowly but surely I am climbing. I hope that my experiences will motivate not intimidate, uplift and not put down. Its okay to make mistakes, how else are you going to learn?

He who has the goals, makes the rules

So the question was posed to me "What is your genre 'passion'? In other words, what do I want to write about. I have been trying to figure this out for quite some time. Most times, as long as I am writng something I am happy. But I realize the importance of writng about things that interest me. So many of my profrssors tell me, "become an expert at your interest." For those who know me personally, they know that I have always had the gift of gab. (no wise cracks please lol) I was recently selected to participate in The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's Communication Internship Program for the Spring 2010 semester. Words cannot begin to describe my excitement. Since that time I would say that I have been more aware of what's going on as it realtes to politics in addition to the African-American community.

Since becoming a mother,I would say that my awareness of the issues we (African-Americans) face and resources needed in our communities has stepped up a couple of notches. I've always wanted to own my business. I've always wanted to live comfortable, not rich. I've always wanted nothing but the best for myself and most importantly my son. I WANT ALL OF THESE THINGS! I also want people like me to know that these goals are not so far out of their reach. So, stay tuned.
